Today marks the end of my second pay period since starting my debt free journey and actually paying attention to what I am spending. I have tracked every single thing, down to the 4 quarters I used to pay to air up my tires, that I am too cheap to replace. Overall I am pleased with the results because I didn't take the first pay period nearly as seriously as this one and we had an unexpected medical bill that was about to be going into collections that we paid for that was over $200 so it messed things up quite a bit.
I keep thinking about how much money my husband and I would have spent if we weren't doing this. Easily we would have doubled our spending. No problem. I would have gone to restaurants or fast food 3 times more than I did, maybe even 5 times more. This is progress.
The numbers aren't going to decrease by a lot, but the point is, they are going to decrease! That is enough to make me feel good and keep the ball rolling into a new month.
